Union Association has once again been on the front line of assisting people in times of disaster on the local, State and National level. Just under 20 people have been led to the Lord. This has been possible with the four well equipped Relief Trailers and the Trained Personnel. Our greatest asset are these volunteers. The Union Baptist Assoc. Disaster Ministry could not function without these great people.
Many have crossed trained so they are ready to serve wherever the need might be. Two of our men are going the extra mile by volunteering on the State level. David Karr serving with Sam Porter and Richard Brown serving as The State Mud/Ash Out Coordinator, a big thanks to all our Volunteers.
All the Equipment took on a new task this year with the wide spread of Wild Fires
The Shower/ Laundry Team made trips to Colorado and New Orleans as well as many local events and working the fires in Noble giving over 70 to 80 showers some evenings as well as doing laundry for Teams from LA, MS, MO, TX, and OK.
The Kitchen/Feeding Team served local events and Mud-out teams following Hurricane Isaac in New Orleans. They also fed the Ash-out teams following the fires in Noble.
The Chainsaw Team didn't have all the ice storms this year, but worked tornado and Wild Fires.
The Wild Fire task was to cut trees 30 ft. around the burned home to avoid dead trees from falling on the new home sight.
The new name for The Mud-out Trailer is
Mud-out/Ash-out Debris Removal. This team worked hard with this new task of Ash-out following the Wild Fires in Bastrop TX, Ruidoso NM, Fort Collins, CO; Luther, and Noble OK.
In addition to supplies and maintenance expenses, our greatest need is for more people to go to the next Training Events so they also can be a Volunteer!
We thank the Union Association churches for your continued support of this ministry.
